Woman with Ankle boots in black

Made entirely with artisanal techniques, the sculpture was hand-molded with red clay and painted only with black engobbio. A matte satin finish, achieved through a light patina of wax, envelops the entire piece with light, allowing light to flow gently across its surface. The slightly tilted head gives a sense of movement to the ensemble, while the sinuous lines communicate a feeling of calm and tranquility.

Every detail was carefully shaped by hand. Regarding the coloring of “Woman with Boots in Black,” only the color black was used to bring out the warm ochre of the red earth from Montelupo, Tuscany, the clay from which the entire sculpture was made. The smooth surface was achieved through the use of mirettes, while the details of the face, hair, and boots were modeled when the raw piece was almost dry, a state of the material that allows for precise and detailed rendering.
